2013 Federal Practice Seminar

The 2013 Federal Practice Seminar is scheduled for Tuesday, July 16, at the Federal Courthouse, 100 NE Monroe, in Peoria, Illinois.  The seminar will be available live or webcast and will provide three (3) hours of general MCLE credit. Timothy L. Bertschy (Heyl, Royster, Voelker & Allen) and Joseph B. VanFleet (VanFleet Law Offices) will be this year's Moderators. More information on subject matter will be forthcoming. Cost for this seminar is $75.00 for PCBA Members, Attorneys registered for ECF in the CDIL and the SDIL; $125.00 for all other attorneys. Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m.; Seminar 9:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.  Continental Breakfast is included in the registration fee. 
Participants will receive course materials electronically; no printed material will be provided. The deadline to register is Thursday, July 11, 2013No refunds For attorneys within a firm; please list attendees, email addresses and whether an attorney will be attending LIVE or WEBCAST in the "Order Comments Section" when you check out.

Any member in good standing of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Peoria County Bar Association, who is now engaged in the active practice of law in the County of Peoria, has been so engaged in practice for at least one year, and has a law office located in Peoria or Tazewell County, may apply for registration by signing and filing, at the Association office the application form provided by the association. The Association reserves the right, by order of a majority of the members of the Committee, to reject any application for registration in the Service, or to remove, at any time, the name of any Service attorney from the Service. The executive director of the Association shall promptly notify each person whose application is accepted or rejected, or whose name is removed from the Service. If dissatisfied with the action of the Committee, any person so affected by this provision shall have the right to appeal to the Board of Directors of  the Association upon written application made to the executive director within ten (10) days from the date of the Committee action complained of. To be eligible as a Service attorney, professional liability insurance in the amount of no less than $100,000. must be provided and maintained. The registration fee is $50.00 annually payable on July 1 of each fiscal year, with unlimited panel selection.

 The Peoria County Bar Association was incorporated in 1879 and works to encourage local attorneys to become and continue as active members of the Association.  The Membership Committee reviews and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding applications from prospective members. Currently the PCBA has over 620 members who can be involved in 19 different committees. If you are interested in becoming a member of the PCBA please complete the membership application (located under Members Section at the bottom of this page) and choose below which dues level would apply to you, or submit payment to the PCBA by check. If you are a current member of the PCBA you can also pay dues online without submitting a new application.
