<strong>The Budget Committee</strong> reviews a proposed budget and makes its recommendation to the Board of Directors regarding said budget, as well as other financial matters of the Association
At the request of the Board of Directors, or upon its own initiative, the <strong>By-Laws Committee</strong> from time to time drafts and/or submits proposed changes to the by-laws of the Association.
The <strong>Communication & Technology Committee</strong> is responsible for the monthly newsletter, annual directory, pictorial directory, the website and matters relating to technology.
The <strong>Courts & Procedures Committee</strong> advises the Board of Directors on issues related to the several divisions of the circuit court including suggestions for changes to the local rules. </strong>The seven division of this committee are:

</strong>Traffic, Small Claims, Misdemeanor Division.
The <strong>Diversity Committee</strong> was implemented to foster diversity in the membership of the Association in order to reflect the community served by its members with respect to race, color, religion, gender, national origin, ancestry, sexual orientation, disability and age.
The mission of the <strong>Entertainment Committee</strong> is to build and maintain the collegiality of the local bar through social interaction. The two primary events are the summer golf/tennis outing and the winter holiday revue.
<strong>Fitness, Health and Wellness</strong> plans to bring awareness to the membership of the various aspects of fitness, health and wellness, both physical and mental, through educational components and activities, such as after-hours programs or a 5K walk/run.
The mission of the <strong>Government and Public Interest Law Committee</strong> is to cultivate and identify opportunities for lawyers practicing in the academic, government and nonprofit sectors to advance the public good, enhance the delivery of public services, improve the lives of others and promote equal access to justice through a continuum of education, resource development, connectivity and public advocacy.
The <strong>Law Library Committee</strong> works closely with the Peoria County Law Librarian to provide an up-to-date and userfriendly facility for the legal community as well as the general public. A cost-effective and intentional balance of both print and selected Westlaw computer resources is provided and user input for improvements is always welcomed.
The <strong>Lawyer Referral Service Committee</strong> oversees and recommends to the Board, rules and policies of the lawyer referral service operated by the Peoria County Bar Association
The <strong>Lincoln Memorial Banquet Committee</strong> oversees the long-standing tradition of celebrating the birth of President Abraham Lincoln with a formal dinner and speaker who addresses timely issues or events.
The <strong>Local Continuing Legal Education Committee</strong> oversees all continuing legal education provided by the Association.
The <strong>Membership and Memorials Committee</strong> works to encourage local attorneys to become and continue as active members of the Association, reviews and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding applications from prospective members; organizes and conducts the annual Memorial Service for deceased members of the Association.
The <strong>Pro Bono Committee</strong> coordinates the Pro Bono efforts of the Peoria County Bar Association and the Peoria County Pro Bono Plan, which is a joint effort between the Association and Prairie State Legal Services. Members of this committee have served in the capacity of a conflicts panel. In addition, the committee has been charged with seeking out and recognizing the Peoria County Pro Bono Firm and lawyer of the year.
The <strong>Professional Standards Committee</strong> oversees resolution of fee disputes between clients and attorneys. It also investigates and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding possible unauthorized practice of law and related issues.
The <strong>Public Relations Committee</strong> oversees all activities which raise the profile of local attorneys, which includes press releases, The People’s Law School, and the Adopt-a-School Program.
The <strong>Real Property Committee</strong> addresses real estate developments, forms and practice issues affecting our members, including meeting with other real estate professionals in our community and the representatives of units of local government that impact on real estate law and practice (e.g., the Recorder, assessors and zoning officers).
The <strong>Young Lawyers Committee</strong> not only serves as a springboard to get new PCBA members involved in the Bar Association, but it is also responsible for two annual blood drives, Project Santa, and Law Day activities, including school speaking events and the Law Day Luncheon.
