| President's Message - "Our Uncommon Cause"CLE providers everywhere court us to attend their seminars. It's common to find CLE's on every legal topic imaginable and meetings are held at locations throughout Illinois, on the web, and in places everywhere from Bar Harbor to Bermuda. While February weather in Peoria can't compete with Bermuda, the PCBA's Saturday morning CLE programs in the winter months do stand toe-to-toe with any seminar you'll commonly find anywhere else. The reasons for this are simple: Local PCBA attorneys create their own CLE program picking topics relevant to our practices, and local attorneys prepare their own presentations. Our winter Saturday morning series is being held this year at the Spalding Pastoral Center, just north of downtown Peoria on Northeast Madison Street. Those who have attended a seminar there have commented most favorably about the new, up-to-date location. So if you haven't registered for a PCBA CLE seminar yet, there's still time. I hope to see you there. Kevin Miller, PCBA President 2011-12 Lawyers Helping Service MembersPast PCBA President Mike Lied recently helped a service member on a domestic relations related matter. An additional matter was brought to our attention by PCBA member Melinda Usalis, and was referred to a Galesburg attorney. The Association received the following note of thanks: "Thank you all for the swift reply. I have forwarded Mr. Dan Alcorn's contact info to Mr. Smith. Truly appreciate all the support and please do let me know if anyone has any questions. Semper Fi." Respectfully, Gunnery Sergeant Rhome Ray A.
