On Saturday, May 19, 2012, the Peoria County Bar Association will hold the Fifth Annual Run/Walk at Tower Park, Peoria Heights, IL. Check in and Registration will begin at 7:00 a.m. with the race beginning at 8:00 a.m. promptly, rain or shine. All participants registered prior to Friday, April 27, 2012, will be guaranteed a Strides for Justice T-Shirt. Early packet pickup will be offered on Friday, May 18, 2012, at Running Central, 4450 N. Prospect Rd., Peoria Heights, IL., from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Race Day registration and packet pickup will run from 7:00-7:45 a.m. at Tower Park. On Wednesday, May 2, 2012 the Young Lawyers Committee and the Illinois State Bar Association will sponsor the annual Law Day Luncheon from 12:00-1:00 p.m at Four Points by Sheraton. This year's Keynote Speaker is Richard "Dick" A. Devine former Cook County State's Attorney (1996-2008), he was a previous aide to Mayor Richard J. Daley and First Assistant to Cook County State's Attorney Richard M. Daley. Currently Mr. Devine is a partner with the law firm of Meckler, Bulger, Tilson, Marick & Pearson LLC in Chicago, Illinois.

The PCBA May Professional Responsibilty Seminar will be held Friday, May 18, 2012, at Four Points by Sheraton. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. and the seminar is from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. This seminar has been submitted for approval by the ILSCCP for two (2) hours of Professional Responsibility Credit. The Co-Chairs of this seminar are Scott Paulsen and Nile Williamson. Speakers will be Denise L. Church (ARDC Counsel), Gary Nelson (Heyl Royster Voelker & Allen), and Jayne Reardon (Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism). The deadline to register is Monday, May 14, 2012.
