PCBA Members,

For those attorneys who are handling dissolution of marriage cases with children, please be aware that Illinois Central College will not be offering in person Children First Courses until after May 18, 2020, due to COVID-19. The 10th Judicial Circuit has approved of online classes for those who cannot go to Illinois Central College because they reside out of state or have mobility issues. Certainly, during the pandemic, you can advise your clients that they can enroll in one of the online classes.  Information and enrollment on the website can be found at www.10thIL.onlineparentingprograms.com. A 4-hour co-parenting class (Co-Parenting CARE Program) and an 8-hour Parenting Without Conflict class is available.  If additional information is received from Illinois Central College, we will inform you.

Message from PCBA President, Michael D. Gifford

Members,

PCBA is unfortunately not immune to the restrictions and inconveniences imposed by COVID-19 response.  Many of us are working from home and have closed or significantly limited our office operations.  Courts are restricting access and continuing many matters.  We’re no different.

All PCBA meetings and events prior to April 1 are cancelled except as described below.  Committee chairs should please communicate with your committees by phone, e-mail, or our secret weapon website.  We’re looking into conducting the monthly Board meeting by teleconference and will have more on that as soon as possible.  The Law Day Luncheon on April 30th is not yet cancelled, but we’ve suspended registration until we know better how things will go.

Linda remains on medical leave and Stephanie is keeping us afloat alone.  We plan to have the office staffed in the mornings and she will work remote during afternoons.  However, the office will be locked while she is present and she will not be admitting the public or members to the office.  I really appreciate the efforts you have all made over the past weeks to help her and we need to keep that up. If you need to communicate with the office, call during the morning or, preferably, send an e-mail.

Please be well and stay healthy.
